It is believed that their love of olive oil and wine keep their bodies healthy and full of antioxidants.Obesity is a major problem here in the United States for many of our citizens. However, other countries do not face the same problems that we do. In fact, Australia actually has low obesity rates. There are a few arguments as to why they fair better in this department, but it ultimately comes down to lifestyle and healthcare. Overall, Australians are extremely active. This island is full of outdoor sports for their residents. Healthcare is also universal in the country.Another country that has lower obesity when compared to the United States is Japan. Japan’s obesity rate is less than 5%. This is a huge difference from the US. Our obesity rate is over 30%. Instead of meat, Japanese focus on a diet that consists more of fish. Fish helps protect them from hearth problems and strokes.Diet can be one of the most important things that contributes to a country’s life expectancy. In Singapore, their diet consists of mainly rice and vegetables. This style diet is very clean and leaves their bodies with little build up. The government also has strict laws promoting cleanliness as a whole in the country.One of the smallest countries on this list is Monaco. Don’t let its size trick you. The citizens of Monaco are currently living more than a decade on average longer than Americans. Their country is a place where wealth flourishes and an excellent health care system. Known for their Mediterranean diet, the citizens are showing lower signs of heart problems. The country also has a very calming atmosphere which can keep citizens stress free.These countries are just a few of the examples of countries that are discovering ways to live a longer, healthier life. As Americans, we need to take charge of our heath and make sure that we do everything to stay healthy. Medical insurance is a necessity to staying healthy. You may not want to pay the extra money every year, but think of it as an investment into your future.
